The logo has great value to the district and its students. It is the district’s goal to have 100% of its students each year having found their ‘And’, meaning they will leave high school prepared for a successful launch into career, military, college, and life in order to be contributing members of society.

Victoria ISD awarded Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Victoria Independent School District for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended Aug. 31, 2020.

This is the 23rd consecutive year VISD has received this award.

Victoria ISD has begun implementing one-to-one technology within the district. Three elementary schools, Dudley, Shields and Torres, and one middle school, Patti Welder, are currently involved in one-to-one technology.

There will be a Regular Monthly Board Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. at the VISD Administration Building.

Annual Thanksgiving Lunch Notice

VISD will host its Annual Thanksgiving Lunch at individual campuses on Wednesday, Nov. 17 (Elementary) and Thursday, Nov. 18 (Secondary).

Due to the limited food and labor resources, we regretfully will not be able to serve parents, grandparents, and family members. You are welcome to bring in a meal to eat with your child, grandchild, or family member that day.

What is the Maintenance Productivity Report?

The Office of Administration has begun working with the Maintenance Department and other operational departments to produce and generate a report to quantify the productivity of the department, known as the Maintenance Productivity Report.

Victoria ISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) department began Industry-Based Certification testing in October at Career and Technology Institute (CTI) and Victoria East and West High School. 100% of the students who participated in October testing passed their tests to receive their Non-Commissioned Security Officer Level II certification.

Cade Middle School's Spanish classes completed Día De Los Muertos Projects in honor of loved ones who have passed. Día de Los Muertos is a long tradition originating from the Aztecs in what is now central Mexico and celebrates loved ones. Students created detailed ofrendas including their persons' favorite drinks, foods, and interests.
